Our Seal
The spirit of our school is depicted on our seal
By the burning lamp, the symbol of faith and prayer.
The City of Chester is represented by the ship-shipbuilding
Its important industry. The symbols of the apostolate of
St. James the Great, the patron saint of our school,
Are the sword of martyrdom, the pilgrim’s staff and the
Drinking shell. These figures form a cross supported by
The open book, the symbol of Knowledge.
Overshadowing this cross are the wings of a Dove,
Emblematic of the Holy Spirit, the inspiration of our students.
The spirit and loyalty of St. Robert’s High School,
“Quae sursum quaerite”
“Seek those things that are above”
Are embodied in our seal as our motto.
This seal, studied carefully, should tend to instill in each
Student a greater love, zeal and loyalty for his school.
